Tunisian Consulate Office of Nepal was inaugurated in 2023 and Ms. Bhawani Rana is the Honorary Consulate of Tunisia in Nepal. There is no embassy of Tunisia in Nepal; however, the consulate office in Nepal offers essential assistance for visa applications and document processing, which are forwarded to New Delhi, India which is the nearest embassy.

The consulate office of Tunisia in Nepal was formally launched on 16 June, 2023. On this launching ceremony the Honorary of Consul of Republic of Tunisia to Nepal, Bhawani Rana has formally taken responsibility as the consular. The official documents of the responsibly was handover to Rana by the Ambassador of Tunisia to South Aisa Mrs. Hayet Talbi EP Bilel.

Foreign Minister N.P. Saud was invited as chief guest of the ceremony. In addition, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Nepal, members and officials of the Consular Corps Nepal, consular, industrialists and businessmen from the private sector were participated in the launching ceremony.

On this occasion, the Foreign Minister expressed his congratulations and best wishes and said that both countries can move forward by cooperating in the international forums.

Rana, the consular, said that the relationship between the two countries can expand trade and cooperation. She said that along with the social and economic strengthening of both countries, there is a high potential in bilateral tourism promotion, development of agriculture and energy sector. Even though we are thousands of kilometers away, we can expand bilateral prosperity through diplomacy. Since Tunisia is connected to European countries, it is seen that it will be easy for Nepal to expand its trade towards Europe,' said Rana. Along with this, Tunisia can take the opportunity to expand its business in India and China by investing in Nepal, as Nepal is lying between China and India, she said.

In the program, Dinesh Shrestha, Dean of Consular Corps of Nepal and consular of Malta and the former president of Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce, Pradip Kumar Shrestha expressed their wishes and congratulate to Rana.

EP Bilel, the Tunisian ambassador to Nepal, said that through this bilateral relationship, cooperation can be done in various fields. She said that there is a possibility of investment in agriculture, tourism, energy sectors and express her pleasure to maintain this relationship with Nepal.
